Time and again spirited discussions take place on internet fora pertaining to an examination of the status of a variety of jyotish parameters, including chara dasha (a signal based longitudinal period astrofactor) and karakamsha (the navamsha in which the atmakaraka (most advanced planet in longitude) is set. As happens, some of the discussants began to branch to other side discussions that had nothing related to the first questions or themes and some actually became a little resolved and emotional, as additionally usually happens on the internet where attention spans of days and weeks are required so as to get into the bottom of things and where some times an interest is being discussed on several unique boards and several topics simultaneously on a particular board! As too is typical, nothing has been resolved, and some of the regulars began expressing their frustrations about such topics coming up again and again again and directing visitors to archives . Alas, the yahoo forums/fora are such that just limited hunting of previous messages will be possible without losing all one's hair, and the archives are often maintained on yet another yahoo site so that this does not help things when all one wants is to have a quick overview of what the others are already using and if possible their good reasons for adopting a certain location! This latter brings out more gall than good information even though the aim of the individual posing the question might have been very noble and not in any way confrontational. Knowing Jyotish doesn't protect one from harbouring Neurotic faculties!
Somewhere, over the path with this former pursuit, still another topic got born and began questioning the use of varga kundalis or varga chakras, divisional horoscopes which are the heart of jyotish and have already been used by tropical astrologers at the form of harmonic charts. This is something which is employed in Jyotish going back to almost the first memories of the earliest members in the forum who eventually confessed to such being the situation. I myself, even though myself maybe not that senior, have seen horoscopes that were attracted in the century before where the jyotishi had attracted the rashi chakra and navamsha and dashamsha and thus forth and more to the point had commented on these charts in his hearing. kalyan panel chart Therefore, at least a lot of people were utilizing varga-charts even a couple of 100 decades ago and conceivably perhaps even prior to these times.
Somewhere during the conversation, in just one of these lists, a number of the members made available an article in that the writer had expressed notions to the contrary, i.e., vargas should not be utilised in a chart format. A discussion ensued which sidestepped the more important and relevant matter of the practical virtues of using of navamsha varga as an secondary graph. A few individuals asked for proofs in classics that indicates that early jyotishis urged of varga chakras. The discussants emphasized that ONLY rashi chakra has to be properly used and varga placements should only be used for determining the advantages of planets .
This was indeed true and also a positive step ahead of the discussion. There were parallel discussions going which were rehashing that BPHS wasn't original and was perhaps not even a timeless and compiled by one or even a group of'latterday saints' [my term, not the initial poster's!] In Jyotish and so cannot be treated as a timeless. Evidently, there was some support for this could be similarly expected if somebody were to create a comment that Jyotish was just a derivative of Babylonian astrology that the army that was included with Alexander brought to India. A topic that's been proven to bring even untoward jyotishis on the"war-path!"
To individuals who were interested and intrigued by thisparticular, there seemed to be just two streams of thought prevailing:
(a) Only Rashi horoscopes ought to be properly used. Other varga kundalis were the product of corrupt understanding of the classics - which themselves many agree might not have survived in pure form [while a number of these have thankfully lived in reasonably good shape1]. I do not know just how a lot of the iceberg postulate is based data and how much is wishful fiction. According to the purists of the stream of thought, vargas MUST simply be utilized as measures of quantitative and qualitative strength of planets and also to that consideration of their deities and primal forces those represent although maybe not at the kind of a horoscope and certainly no critical consideration must be directed at aspects along with bhava considerations. Just for clarity, they would assert, for instance, that while the 2nd house lord in navamsha is a significant indicator, the fact that it is placed in the second navamsha varga from the navamsha lagna (essentially in second house in navamsha graph ) is not significant. Or, for example, if Mars is in Aries sign and Libra navamsha, and Saturn is in Gemini sign and Libra navamsha, the two planets aren't related (though they'd be portrayed as being conjoined in the exact same navamsha varga at a navamsha graph ).
(b) Regardless of whether specifically described or perhaps not, the other stream of thinking asserts that varga kundalis have an important function to play at Jyotish and potentially are of significant utility in identifying chief mandates matters pertaining to the prescription written by sages. To put it differently, navamsha chart, for instance, would hold significant sway on matters of marriage and spouse, whilst saptamsha chart would be of import in the examination of kids in a particular nativity's reading. All these Vargas should be analyzed in a chart format.
There appeared to be a few different individuals who totally denied that the veracity of thought flow (b) and a few were a little taciturn about it, perhaps in order to prevent acrimony and getting ensnared from the controversy. Or there were some other factors, known only for them.
